The L.E.R.E.M. (Laboratoire d'Etudes et de Recherches des Emballages Métalliques – Metal Packaging Research Laboratory) was established in 1961 by S.N.F.B.M., the French Metal Packaging and Closure Manufacturers Association, and has become a non-profit-making association since 1987.
The L.E.R.E.M. is an organization which is authorized by the Ministry of Transport to approve packaging construction types, and for this purpose LEREM carries out the tests required by the regulations.
Hydraulic pressure tests,
Air tightness tests,
Water absorption of fibreboard boxes by the Cobb method,
Corrosion tests in accordance with the RID/ADR regulations.
L.E.R.E.M. has gained wide experience in the whole aerosol area, in particular in the following fields.
Choosing a package for a given contents, choosing different corrosion inhibitors with electrochemical tests suited to different container/contents pairs.
To confirm the good results obtained by electrochemical tests, storage tests can be carried out, generally at room temperature (+25°C) for 6 months duration...
Lacquer analysis by means of infrared Fourier-transform spectrometry, searching for water traces in non aqueous products using the Karl Fisher method,...
