ADVANCED ANALYSES AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Useful data for informed decisions

Understand a material, investigate a defect or validate a solution

When a routine measurement is not enough, LEREM designs the study around the technical question that needs to be answered.

Whether the objective is to identify a material or coating, compare formulations, determine the cause of a defect, characterise physicochemical properties or verify regulatory requirements, the methods are selected to provide reliable, clear results that your teams can use directly.

Starting with your requirements

What question do you need us to answer?

An analytical programme is not a standard list of tests. It is defined around your product, its intended use and the decision you need to make.

Identify

Determine the nature of an unknown product, polymer, coating or deposit.

Compare

Measure the differences between two formulations, batches, materials or treatments.

Investigate

Investigate the origin of a leak, corrosion, deformation or deterioration.

Verify

Check a property, confirm a classification or document product compliance.

Instrumental analysis

Observe materials and monitor their transformation

Spectroscopic and optical techniques can identify a material, compare spectra, examine a surface or locate an anomaly.

LEREM uses techniques including infrared and UV spectroscopy, chromatography and microscopy. Depending on the study, these observations may be complemented by scanning electron microscopy.

The intended outcome: identification, comparison or investigation, supported by an interpretation directly related to your industrial issue.

Complementary capabilities

Select the measurements that will move the study forward

A single issue may require several approaches. LEREM combines the relevant methods without multiplying tests that would not provide decisive information.

Physicochemical characterisation

Flash point, pH, viscosity, tin content, flow properties and other characteristics selected for the product.

Specific mechanical measurements

Internal pressure, tensile strength, expansion and tests adapted to the container geometry.

Food contact

Overall or specific migration studies and investigation of non-intentionally added substances where required.

Product classification

Corrosivity to metals, combustibility, flash point, viscosity and flow properties according to the applicable standards.

Controlled ageing

Thermal cycling and controlled-temperature storage, from a few weeks to several months depending on the selected protocol.

Bespoke technical expertise

Defect investigation, comparative analysis and development of a specific protocol with your team.

Physicochemical measurements

Characterise the properties that influence product behaviour

A pH, viscosity, mass or flash-point value is meaningful only when it answers a specific question. LEREM selects the method, prepares the sample and defines the measurement conditions according to the product under study.

These results can be used to compare batches, verify a specification, document a classification or support a broader investigation.

Mesure physico-chimique réalisée au LEREM
A structured study, not an isolated measurement

From a technical requirement to an actionable conclusion

1

Define

Sample, history, conditions of use and the question to be answered.

2

Select

Methods, controls, test conditions and comparison criteria.

3

Measure

Documented testing and results compared with the observed behaviour.

4

Interpret

A clear report to compare, correct, qualify or document the solution.

Training designed for your teams

LEREM regularly supports its clients with questions concerning dangerous-goods transport regulations and aerosols. Drawing on this experience and on training already delivered on company premises, the team prepares programmes tailored to your products, activities and employees’ level of knowledge.

LEREM is registered as a training provider with the Prefect of the Picardie region and also contributes to the aerosol-industry training programme organised by the French Aerosol Committee.

A tailored programme

Content, duration and examples are defined around the company’s requirements.
